Guns N Roses Slams Trump with Live and Let Die COVID T-Shirt

Guns N Roses singer Axl Rose has always been outspoken and the pandemic doesn’t seem to be changing anything. His band has recently released a new t-shirt that may be a direct response to President Trump’s recent visit to the Honeywell factory.

Honeywell is a factory in Arizona that makes N95 masks. Trump visited with his aides to depict him making and effort to generate supplies to help in the fight against the coronavirus. During his visit, Trump and his team did not wear masks, thereby violating the Honeywell mask wearing policy. Oh, and did we mention, the workers were blaring the Guns and Roses’ cover of the song ‘Live and Let Die’ during the visit?

Rose was inspired by the event and, as a result, Guns N Roses released a t-shirt that reads “Live and let die with COVID 45”. The 45 supposedly refers to Trump who is the country’s 45th president.

The shirts cost $25 and 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the shirt will be given to the MusiCares foundation, an organization dedicated to raising money for music industry workers that are struggling due to the coronavirus lockdowns. The shirts are currently available for pre-order on the Guns N Roses web site and they will be available to the public on Saturday.

The release of the shirt is just one example of how Rose has been outspoken about the coronavirus and the government’s handling of the situation. Last week he got into a Twitter feud with Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin.

It all started when Mnuchin stated, “This is a great time for people to explore America,” during a Fox Business appearance.

Rose took to Twitter posting the comment, “It’s official! Whatever anyone may have previously thought of Steve Mnuchin he’s officially an asshole.”

Mnuchin then shot back tweeting, “What have you done for the country lately?” along with an emoji of the Liberian flag. After much public criticism, the secretary then had to replace the Liberian flag emoji with an American flag emoji.

Rose finished off the round with this one “My bad I didn’t get we’re hoping 2 emulate Liberia’s economic model but on the real unlike this admin I’m not responsible for 70k+ deaths n’ unlike u I don’t hold a fed gov position of responsibility 2 the American people n’ go on TV tellin them 2 travel the US during a pandemic.”

The entire incident set off a media frenzy in which there was much speculation as to why Mnuchin was spending his time fighting publicly with Rose in the midst of a global crisis. There were also a few comments stating that the country might be better off if Rose was in the Treasury Secretary position.

In the meantime, like a true politician, we are not taking sides, but if you want to buy the t-shirt, you will be supporting a worthwhile cause.
